Is it possible to re-write our life’s story, or should we even want to do that? In a word, no, the life that we live is the one God-ordained and laid before us. By our own choosing, we could not give ourselves what we truly and most intimately need.
I know that God has shaped and molded my life much differently than I would have chosen for myself and for which I am so thankful. His way is so much better. God gave me a wonderful family to grow up in, but life was sometimes just plain hard as my mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis about the time I turned 11. I know I wouldn’t have chosen that, but God did for purposes I’m sure I still don’t understand. I think that through those circumstances God was able to help me see life differently than I might have seen it otherwise.
My dad was quick to remind us that life isn’t about us, and I have learned along the way the truth of that statement. This life is not about us, but it is for us to bring glory to God and to enjoy Him!
God has blessed me with a beautiful wife who loves the Lord and brings Him honor through serving our family and others. We have four children, three of whom are married and have begun families of their own. Our younger son is an attorney for Alliance Defending Freedom serving to protect our religious liberties. We are reminded that life is a process and that God is involved each step of the way.
We love the body of believers at Cedar Ridge and desire to see God working in and through us for His glory! Phil. 2:1-5
